Two reviews of Claire Rasmussen’s The Autonomous Animal: Self-Governance and the Modern Subject, now published

Last year at the AAG conference in New York City, Michael Brown organized an author-meets-critics panel for his sometimes-collaborator, Claire Rasmussen.  (Their paper, “Bestiality and the Queering of the Human Animal,” came out in the journal in 2009. It is currently a highlight paper at the publisher’s website and can be accessed without subscription).  Claire’s book, The Autonomous Animal, was published in 2011 with University of Minnesota Press.  Reviews by panelists Robert Lake and Matthew Wilson are now posted, as is an author response by Claire.
